The Unified Payments Interface (UPI) has made digital payments easier, becoming a favorite way to transact for everyone. The UPI transaction count has been increasing at a rapid pace. The National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) announced that in March 2024, UPI transactions count exceeded 13 billion.

On X, previously known as Twitter, NPCI shared that UPI recorded 13.44 billion transactions in March alone, marking a 55% growth from the previous year. The total value of these transactions also rose by 40% year-over-year, reaching ₹19.78 lakh crore.

In February 2024, the transaction count was at 12.10 billion while the transaction amount was 18.28 lakh crore. 

NPCI also released NETC FASTag monthly volumes showing 339 million transaction count in march 2024, an increase of 11% on yearly basis. The transaction amount increased 17% to stand at 5,939 crore. The transaction count of NETC FASTag in February 2024 was at 323 million while transaction count was at 5,582 crore.
