In a significant move towards enhancing convenience for travelers, NPCI Bharat BillPay Limited (NBBL) has partnered with the State Bank of India (SBI) to introduce a seamless online recharge option for SBI NCMC cards on its Bharat BillPay platform. This collaboration aims to streamline the recharge process for commuters, offering a hassle-free experience and eliminating the need to stand in long queues.
The integration of SBI NCMC cards onto the Bharat BillPay platform encompasses various transit services, including Noida Metro, Nagpur Metro, MMRDA Line 2A & 7, Chennai Metro, Kanpur Metro, and Parliament Canteen, through SBI’s Bharat BillPay-enabled application, SBI Unipay. Additionally, more frontend platforms are slated to go live with this service in the near future.
“NPCI Bharat BillPay Limited (NBBL), a wholly-owned subsidiary of the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI), in collaboration with State Bank of India (SBI), has onboarded SBI NCMC cards on its Bharat BillPay platform. The category is already live with SBI NCMC cards for Noida Metro, Nagpur Metro, MMRDA Line 2A & 7, Chennai Metro, Kanpur Metro, and Parliament Canteen via the bank’s Bharat BillPay-enabled application, SBI Unipay, and more frontend platforms will go live with the service soon,” NPCI stated in a release.
The introduction of the National Common Mobility Card (NCMC) Recharge as a biller category enables customers to conveniently recharge or top-up their NCMC cards online, with a maximum limit of Rs. 10,000. This feature supports multiple payment methods, including prepaid, debit, and credit cards, providing flexibility and ease of use for commuters.
For customers looking to recharge their NCMC cards via Bharat BillPay, the process is straightforward:
- Open SBI Unipay (or other Bharat BillPay enabled front-end platforms)
- Choose NCMC category
- Select Biller
- Input mobile number & last 4 digits of NCMC card number
- Enter recharge amount
- Make payment
Upon successful recharge, customers need only tap their cards on terminals to update the balance on their NCMC cards.
