HFCL, a telecom gear manufacturer, has announced its collaboration with Microsoft to provide private 5G solutions for businesses. The company has initiated a pilot project utilizing its 5G indoor small cell and Microsoft Azure public architecture at its optical fiber manufacturing plant located in Hyderabad. The solutions’ deployment is primarily intended to identify fiber defects in real-time, utilizing video analytics and image processing.
In addition to the pilot project at its manufacturing plant, HFCL has announced its plans to provide converged private 5G solutions in collaboration with Microsoft. The solutions will utilize cutting-edge technologies such as IoT, cloud, edge computing, artificial intelligence, and analytics. These solutions will primarily target various sectors such as retail, warehouse, manufacturing, mining, education, railways, and smart cities, among others.
